We speak "firefighter" because we are firefighters.
Our instructors have over 100 combined years of experience in the fire service, EMS, and law enforcement and are all either still on the job or recently retired. Our newest addition, a defense attorney, has been on the job for a decade and currently acts as a full-time engineer and is highly regarded as an advocate for firefighters. Our lead instructor is a renowned building construction guru and recently retired Battalion Chief with 25 years of experience and is an architect. He is known throughout Michigan as the "go to" for firefighter building construction.
From "probies" to chiefs, we've worked extensively as line personnel, field trainers, and company officers at both public and private agencies.
We know what works – and more importantly, what doesn't – because we've experienced it firsthand.
When the CEO of this company, Nate House, a firefighter and critical care paramedic for over 20 years was onboarding new hires as a Public Safety Administrator, he noticed a huge disparity between the field training of the police officers compared to the firefighters, although the community expectation to deliver prompt, quality service was the same for both groups. Why? His peers in law enforcement insisted that "law enforcement was more dangerous, and the community expected more from police officers." When the data failed to support these claims, he was inspired to establish the most robust FIRE and EMS Field Training Officer and mentorship program anywhere in the country!
Nate has been published in Fire Engineering, a guest speaker at the Mid-West Fire Chief's Expo, and an instructor at FDIC. He has also made the international podcast circuit, is a regular online media contributor for Emergency Nexus, and is known throughout the United States for his expertise in mentorship, leadership, and the field training program.
We are always looking for active firefighters to help join us. You may not get rich, but we believe you could be a part of changing the fire service for the better for years to come. Reach out to us here
